Rochester Morning Anchor Leaves WHEC to Be Full Time Dad

By Kevin Eck

WHEC morning anchor Brennan Somers signed off of the Rochester, N.Y. NBC affiliate on Friday after working at the station for five years.

“Many of you have asked me, what’s next?” Somers said in his goodbye. “The short answer to that is I’m going home. Full-time Daddy B Daycare as we jokingly call it, truly the best job. A girl dad.”

Before joining WHEC in 2017, Somers worked at WTVR in Richmond, Va. as a reporter, anchor, and producer for multiple broadcasts. He started his career at WMBF in Myrtle Beach, S.C.
