Philadelphia meteorologist Melissa Magee is heading to her hometown of Los Angeles.

TVSpy reported last month that Magee was leaving WPVI, the ABC station in Philadelphia, after 11 years in the city—but at the time, it was unclear which L.A. station she would land at. Magee is joining KNBC, a station she grew up watching.

“Melissa understands the uniqueness of our market and the many microclimates that impact our viewers,” said Renee Washington, vp of news at NBC4. “Her strong meteorological skills and upbeat personality will be an asset to our First Alert weather team.”

Magee started her career at KBAK in Bakersfield, Calif. She later joined a station in Nebraska before heading to AccuWeather in Pennsylvania.

She will not only do weather at NBC4, but will also work on a variety of news specials and lifestyle shows.
