Nexstar’s Huntsville Station to Debut Expanded Newscast

By Kevin Eck

WZDX viewers will get to see a new look from the Nexstar-owned Fox affiliate starting at 9 p.m. tonight.

Nexstar invested $3.3 million when it bought the station in 2014, hiring news personnel and upgrading the station’s weather forecasting equipment and signal to full HD.

“The dedicated employees at WZDX-TV have a strong history of responding to the needs of the people and communities of Northern Alabama and the launch of our full-coverage, locally-produced news programming is an extension of that legacy,” said WZDX vp and GM Mark Overstreet. “We are further elevating our commitment to local viewers and advertisers by expanding our leading primetime evening newscast to one full hour Monday through Sunday, with 24/7 access to additional news, lifestyle, sports, weather and other compelling local content online at RocketCityNow.com.”
