Newsy Tells Employees in N.Y. and D.C. to Stay Home Through April 3

Newsy, a subdivision of Scripps, is telling employees in New York and Washington D.C. to stay home.

TVSpy obtained an internal memo sent by Blake Sabatinelli to all employees of the network today. In it, he explained how the company is taking action out of an abundance of caution and instructing those who can to work remotely to do so while broadcasts will continue in Chicago.

NY – All employees have been instructed to work from home until April 3rd.
DC – All employees have been instructed to work from home until April 3rd.
Chicago – Operations will continue in full with plans to continue business as usual through at least through Monday. We will reassess the situation on Monday and make further changes as needed.
Columbia – We will continue operating in full through at least Monday. We will reassess the situation on Monday and make further changes as needed.
Denver – All employees have been instructed to work from home until April 3rd.
Cincinnati – Starting Monday, March 16, all employees have been instructed to work from home until April 3rd.

While there are no known coronavirus cases among members of the company, Sabatinelli says this action is being taken out of an abundance of caution.

He also noted that these recommendations are fluid until the concern about the spread of the virus settles down.
