After spending 16 years as a meteorologist in Louisiana, Dave Nussbaum is Alabama-bound.
Nussbaum, who has been with New Orleans’ 4WWL for almost seven years, is leaving to join CBS 42 in Birmingham, Ala.
His last day at 4WWL will be Thursday, and he will start his new role at WIAT on Jan. 2, appearing on The CBS 42 Morning News.
“I’m looking forward to joining the CBS 42 news and weather team,” Nussbaum told his new station. “I’m very passionate about weather, and there will be plenty for me to cover here. I hope the viewers can trust me and my forecast like they did in New Orleans. Birmingham is a wonderful city and a great place to raise my son. I can’t wait to move my family here.”
Added CBS 42 news director Rob Martin, “I believe our viewers will enjoy watching Dave each morning. Our morning viewers will not find a more dependable meteorologist for the daily forecast and when severe weather is approaching.”
Nussbaum tweeted Tuesday morning, “Everyone in NOLA will be missed! I’m very excited for my new opportunity.”
Yes, you heard it right on the news this morning…I am leaving @WWLTV after almost 7 years and headed to @CBS_42 in #Birmingham. My last day will be this Thursday, Christmas Eve. Everyone in NOLA will be missed! I’m very excited for my new opportunity. https://t.co/lN5VSGRkRk
