New Mexico Reporter Moving to Arkansas for Anchor Gig

Brandon Evans, a reporter at KOAT in Albuquerque, N.M., will join Hearst sister station KHBS-KHOG as an anchor and reporter in late April.

Evans will co-anchor the 6:00 and 10:00 p.m. newscast with Paige Preusse, chief meteorologist Darby Bybee, and sports director Mitch Roberts for the Fort Smith, Ark. ABC affiliate. He’ll also co-anchor the 9:00 p.m. news on the CW sister station, in addition to contributing as a reporter on all news platforms.

“Brandon’s experience is a perfect fit for our team,” said news director Colleen Clement. “Brandon’s versatility will enhance 40/29 News’ commitment to thoroughly cover the entire market.”

Evans started his career as a sports reporter. He’s worked at WAGA in Atlanta, Ga. and at WTVC in Chattanooga, Tenn.
