New Details Emerge in CBS New York Reporter’s Death

The New York Post is reporting new details about the death of CBS New York reporter Nina Kapur, who died Sunday in a moped accident.

Kapur, 26, was a passenger on a Revel rental scooter on Sunday around 5:30 p.m. when the accident occurred, the NYPD confirmed to the Post. The driver of the scooter, a 26-year-old male, swerved, and both he and Kapur fell onto the roadway. The driver, who sustained minor injuries, told authorities that he tried to avoid a car he thought was pulling out of a parking spot. Neither driver nor passenger was wearing helmets.

A passerby took a photograph of the aftermath of the accident, which the Post published. In the photo, a moped can be seen lying sideways in a crosswalk in Greenpoint, Brooklyn. EMT and firefighters are visible in the background of the photo.

Kapur, who was 26, joined CBS New York in 2019, from News 12 Connecticut. As TVSpy previously reported, journalists from across the country have been expressing their grief over Kapur’s death.

Her former station, WDVM in Maryland, put together a montage video of her time at the station.
