Clapperton first joined the station in 2015 as executive producer of investigations. She’s the winner of five regional Emmys.

“I’m thrilled to take on this new role and continue the important work that all of us at NBC 6 do every day,” Clapperton said. “Our commitment to delivering exceptional journalism that is compelling and informs and empowers our South Florida audiences remains the driving force behind what we do.”

Before Clapperton got her start in local news, she worked for A&E and a number of investigative units.
