Melissa Colorado Switches NBC Owned Stations, Leaving KNTV for WNBC

By Kevin Eck

Melissa Colorado has joined New York NBC owned station WNBC as a reporter.

Colorado recently left KNTV, the NBC owned station in San Jose, Calif. This week she announced she was back home in New York.

“I’m back home. Literally,” Colorado posted to Facebook. “I’m back in my parents’ basement. I’m also working at @nbcnewyork, a station I used to intern for many, many moons ago. I was THAT intern who would come to the station on the weekends because there was so much freedom on the weekends and I could count on shadowing reporters like @katyturnbc.”

Colorado was born in Elmhurst, Queens. Her first day at WNBC was April 18.

“So here we go, NYC,” she wrote. “I’m already speaking a decibel louder and walking three steps faster. Just like old times.”
