Megan Mitchell to Return to WLWT in Cincinnati After Year in Dallas

Former WLWT anchor and reporter Megan Mitchell is returning to the station after leaving last year.

Mitchell, who also has nearly 2 million TikTok followers, will return to the Cincinnati NBC affiliate in January 2024.

“We’re excited to welcome Megan back to the WLWT News 5 team. Her knowledge and absolute love of Cincinnati will further strengthen WLWT’s coverage of the biggest stories and community events our viewers rely on every day,” said WLWT news director Jeff Benscoter. “From severe weather, the Fountain Square shooting and coverage of U.S. Presidents, to the Flying Pig Marathon, Reds Opening Day and spending a week in L.A. for the Bengals Super Bowl, Megan has been a key team member at WLWT for years.”

She’ll anchor and report on WLWT News 5 Today alongside Steven Albritton, Kelly Rippin and Randi Rico.

“Cincinnati! I’m coming back!!!!!!” Mitchell wrote on social media. “Cincinnati is a culture like no other. It’s the place in this universe where I feel most myself. My happiest! My home.”

Mitchell joined WLWT as a reporter in 2016 and left WLWT in January 2023 to move to WFAA in Dallas.
