KSDK has hired Megan Kernan as the newest multi-skilled journalist for its morning newscast.

Kernan joins the St. Louis NBC affiliate after working at WKRN in Nashville, Tennessee. Before her work in Tennessee, Kernan worked at WBAY in Green Bay, Wisconsin.

“I was in grade school watching KSDK when I decided I would become a news reporter one day,” said Kernan. “To be able to work for my hometown news station, the very one that sparked my passion in journalism, is a dream come true.”

“When hiring, KSDK always looks for the best qualified candidate and when that person also happens to be from the St. Louis area and has a strong desire to work in their hometown, it’s not the only factor but that matters to us,” said news director Art Holliday. “From the time Megan applied for the ‘Today in St. Louis’ reporter position, she stressed how much she wanted to work at her hometown station. We’re excited that the next part of her professional journey will be at 5 On Your Side.”

Kernan fills the role left vacant when former MSJ Alex Fees was promoted to community impact manager.
