Mayoral Candidate Collapses During Live Debate on WCAU

A live mayoral debate on Philadelphia NBC-owned station WCAU was interrupted by the collapse of one of the candidates, Lynne Abraham, who fell to the stage as another candidate answered a question. Debate moderators quickly sent the program to a commercial.

“I was on a riser,” Abraham said during a press conference later. “I leaned over to look at Tony and the lights went out.”

Abraham, WCAU reports, quickly regained consciousness and left the stage. She was evaluated by a doctor and told she was okay, but she did not return to the debate.
