Little Rock, Ark. NBC affiliate KARK drummed up a little social media buzz with a Golden Retriever puppy.
Shade the puppy is owned by KARK’s D.J. Williams.
The whole story was that Shade, who was reportedly kicked off the morning show by news director Austin Kellerman earlier this month, would be allowed to stay if a Facebook post about him brought in 1000,00 likes. It didn’t.

Instead Williams and Matt Peterson ambushed Kellerman at his house live on-air. Kellerman agreed to let the dog stay if the two left his porch. They did. Shade stays.
