Lexington Reporter Quits to Run the World

WTVQ morning anchor Katie Solove is leaving TV to run around the world. Literally.

The Lexington, Ky. news personality posted about her journey on Friday.

“Over the last year, I’ve gone thru a phase in my life that I think a lot of people can relate to. I got to a point where I knew something was missing nd that’s scary when it’s a life you thought you wanted or have been working for professionally for years,” she said in a lengthy Instagram post which detailed her reasons behind leaving broadcasting.

Solove said the past year has been one filled with ups and downs but that despite it all, she’s happiest when she is running. For that reason, she told viewers she will move oversees next week and launch a running blog called Katie on the Run.

“My goal is to create a community to inspire people to live, run and travel,” she said.

Solove will start by running half marathons in Budapest, Libson and the original full marathon in Athens, Greece.

She anchored the station’s morning and noon weekday newscasts.
