KSAT Reporter Back on TV After Achilles Surgery

By Stephanie Tsoflias Siegel

A reporter in San Antonio has been off the air for eight weeks—but her absence has nothing to do with the coronavirus.

Sarah Acosta returned to Good Morning San Antonio at KSAT this morning after having achilles surgery.

In an interview, from her home studio this morning, Acosta said she was loving the 11-hour stretches of sleep she was getting while being off. That is compared to the four hours she typically gets during the week.

The reporter says she ruptured her achilles while playing tennis recently.

“It popped out of nowhere. It’s called getting old I guess!” she said.

Her surgery was March 13 and the next day everything shut down in Texas due to the Covid-19 outbreak.

She’ll be reporting from home for the next month and then plans to go back into the field.
