After losing Lucy Noland to Los Angeles’ KNBC this summer, KHOU has hired veteran SoCal anchor Lisa Hernandez as her replacement, according to mikemcguff.com.
A California native, Hernandez currently works as a weekend morning co-anchor and general assignment reporter for KABC.
“I am ridiculously lucky,” Hernandez told mikemcguff.com about her new job. “Not only am I joining an amazing news team, I’m moving to an amazing city!”
Before joining KABC in 2004, Hernandez worked as a producer at KESQ in Palm Springs and as a reporter for News 14, a 24-hour cable news channel in North Carolina. She is expected to anchor KHOU’s 5 and 10 p.m. newscasts.
