KARK-Fox 16 reporter Mitch McCoy addressed hate mail about his sexuality on Facebook Live and turned it into a powerful story about the LGBTQ community in Little Rock.
“As you my recall when I first got here I got a hate letter from a viewer demanding I be taken off the air for being gay,” McCoy said.
That was the jumping off point for a larger discussion he had with two locals – an openly gay woman and transsexual man.

Both came out about the hardship of growing up as a minority in Arkansas and how it has affected mental health.
This was part of a series that aired on the Nexstar station all week.
