Jim Kenyon, investigative reporter for WSTM–WTVH, is retiring after 38 years with the Syracuse N.Y. CBS and NBC affiliates.

Kenyon started at WSTM in 1976 after working in Columbus, Ohio as a reporter. He started his career in 1970 at WSYR in Syracuse, which at the time was known as WNYS.
The Post-Standard said Kenyon briefly worked as an anchor in 1993, but soon returned to investigate reporting.
Kenyon told The Post-Standard in 1996 he was offered a job at WTVH-5 — nearly two decades before it joined WSTM to become CNY Central — but stayed with the NBC affiliate so he could focus on in-depth reporting.
“It’s been my greatest honor to serve my community,” Kenyon said on the station website. “Through good times and bad, I hope that I’ve been able to shed light on the events and issues that affect our lives. Thank you to all who have helped me along the way, from my many news sources, to the managers who put their trust in me to tell the true story and to my competitors in the local media who have kept me on my toes.”
