Media General has named Ron Romines VP and GM of Albany ABC affiliate WTEN.
Romines, who was GSM at WTEN, replaced Andy Alford who moved to Media General-owned WFLA in Tampa, Fla. as GM.
He started his career at WDBD in Jackson, Miss. and later moved to WAPT where he was promoted to GSM from local sales manager. He’s also worked as GSM at KOCO in Oklahoma City, Okla., WCCO in Minneapolis, Minn., and WJTV in Jackson, Miss.
“I’m grateful for the opportunity to lead the talented and dedicated staff at WTEN,” Romines, who started his new role Monday, said. “Having shared the challenges and successes of the last 10 years with many of the staff members, I know it will be extremely rewarding to work with our determined and dependable professionals as we achieve new heights.”
