WCNC political reporter Hunter Sáenz has left the Charlotte, N.C. NBC affiliate after three years there.
Sáenz announced the news on social media by saying he “turned off” his microphone “for the last time” at the station and added that he is staying in the city.
“It’s been an incredible ride at a station that’s provided me with so many opportunities,” said Sáenz. “I cannot thank the team, that’s grown into family, enough. It’s just time for me to make this change.”

He started his career at WKOW in Madison, Wisc.
