Here’s the Roundup for the Week Ending February 10

Happy Friday to all who celebrate! In this week’s edition of stories we didn’t get to, we see that Major League Baseball is worried about Sinclair Broadcast Group, another San Antonio local TV on-air type is arrested for DUI and aa Louisiana anchor gets to wear a tiara for a year.

About $1 billion of Major League Baseball’s revenue is at risk if Sinclair Broadcasting Group subsidiary Diamond Sports Group operating under the name Bally Sports fails to make payments for local broadcasting rights to 14 teams.

Sinclair acquired 21 regional sports networks in 2019 from The Walt Disney Co., which had taken them over as part of its purchase of 21st Century Fox. Sinclair also holds rights to 16 NBA teams and 12 NHL franchises, and teams fear in an era of cord-cutting they may not get payments. Click here to read more.

WTEN anchor Lydia Kulbida has been noticeably absent from the Albany, New York ABC affiliate’s air for nearly a month and viewers wonder about her whereabouts. Kulbida, who co-anchors the early evening and night newscasts on News10ABC and FOX23 had hip replacement surgery in January and has been home recuperating since. Click here to read the story.
