In March, parent company Gray announced it was looking to hire more than 40 staffers to expand the Atlanta CBS affiliate’s newsroom. WGCL has added two hours of news since Gray took over for Meredith in December.

WGCL sister station Peachtree TV is adding a two-hour 7 a.m. newscast starting Monday, May 9.

The AJC said the newscast will be anchored by Lana Harris and Brooks Baptiste with meteorologist Ella Dorsey and Rodney Harris doing traffic.
