Doug Hamilton will be replaced by Byron Grandy as vp and GM of Nexstar-owned CBS affiliate WNCN in Raleigh-Durham, North Carolina.

Grandy last worked at KMGH in Denver where he was vp and GM. He’s also worked as news director at KMOL in San Antonio, Texas.

The Raleigh station will be starting fresh after news director Andrea Parquet-Taylor announced she was named news director for CBS-owned KTVT in late January.

“Byron has an impressive industry background and is a highly-respected leader who has achieved great success in generating ratings and revenue share gains at the stations he has managed,” said Doug Davis, svp and Regional Manager of Nexstar Broadcasting. “Throughout his career, Byron has been a key contributor to new business development and positive sales trends in both large and mid-sized markets. We look forward to Byron’s contributions to WNCN-TV and WNCN.com as we continue to enhance the effectiveness and value of our broadcast, digital and mobile services for local viewers and advertisers in Raleigh-Durham and the surrounding local communities.”

WNCN was part of Nexstar’s $4.6 billion acquisition of Media General.
