Fox owned Washington, D.C. station WTTG opened up its new broadcast facility in Bethesda.

WTTG started broadcasting Saturday from its new home, located about 2 miles from its previous location in Friendship Heights, where it had been since 1966.

“Today’s debut of FOX 5’s new sleek and vibrant home has been a labor of love and an example of our commitment to keep innovating on the local news experience,” said WTTG senior vice president and general manager Patrick Paolini said. “We are excited to showcase our new technologically advanced facility which we designed to enhance coverage and further connect the intersection of news and the communities we serve.”

Anchor Jim Lokay posted a video on twitter celebrating the fact he had windows to look out of:
“BREAKING: it’s raining. Not a big deal, but we’ve literally never had windows in the newsroom before, so to see it for ourselves is epic.”
