Fort Wayne Native to Anchor Mornings at WANE

By Kevin Eck

Emily Dwire has been named the weekday morning anchor for Fort Wayne CBS affiliate WANE.

She replaces Alyssa Ivanson, who was promoted to evening anchor in May.

Dwire, who was born and raised in Fort Wayne, last worked in Omaha, Neb. at WOWT. She worked at WPTA in Fort Wayne for seven years, and spent three of those as a morning anchor as well as a producer and anchor for the noon newscast. She has also worked as a full-time reporter, producer, and editor.

“To have someone who is from the community we serve every day come and join the team is a huge asset,” said WANE news director Jenna Huff. “Emily’s personality is perfect for First News. She’s bright and positive and knows what matters to our viewers. She has experience balancing digital with broadcast which will help springboard our coverage forward. We expect big things from her while she’s here. We’re excited to welcome her back home and to the WANE 15 family.”
