Former WSOC Anchor Janet England Dies at 72

Former WSOC anchor Janet England died on Saturday at the age of 72.

England worked at the Charlotte, N.C. ABC affiliate in the eighties and nineties and was one of the first female news anchors in the Carolinas.

England’s family said she died on Saturday after a battle with Alzheimer’s disease.

She is survived by her husband, Bill, her sons, Brett and Chandler, and grandchildren, Addie and Huck.
