Don “Frank” Hudson has died at the age of 71. Hudson was an anchor at Louisville ABC affiliate WHAS.
The station said Hudson died on March 1 at his home in Ocoee, Fla.
Hudson began his broadcast career as an anchor at KOCO in Oklahoma City. He later moved to Syracuse, N.Y. to work at WNYS (WSYT) and then moved to WDBO (WKMG) in Orlando before leaving local TV because, as his family said, “his hair fell out.”
During the time away from local TV, Hudson worked for C.E. Beck & Associates as a Landman before returning to news at WAFB Baton Rouge, La. and later at WHAS.
Hudson’s family described him as generous, always having a “sense of humor” and a “big heart.” They said his desire to help others was “beyond compare and was his gift to all who knew him.”
Hudson anchored alongside the late Melissa Forsythe while at WHAS.
