Former Dallas Anchors Return to CW Station to Host Digital Show About Coronavirus

Former Dallas anchors turned podcasters Ron Corning and Jenny Anchondo are taking on a new role at CW33 in Dallas, Texas. They’re launching a digital show called Coronavirus: The Daily to help locals stay up-to-date on the coronavirus crisis.

The new initiative by the Nexstar station will launch April 6 on CW33.com and will air weekdays at 2 p.m.

“With the addition of Coronavirus: The Daily’ hosted by journalists Ron Corning and Jenny Anchondo, CW33 is creating a platform to bring members of the communities in North Texas into the conversation as we face the COVID-19 pandemic together,” said vp and gm John Trevino. “Bringing their experience and unique perspective, Ron and Jenny are two familiar faces that will help us process the developing story of the Coronavirus in our daily lives.”

Corning and Anchondo both anchored in Dallas at separate stations. Corning was at WFAA, Anchondo at KDFW. After both leaving TV, they launched separate podcasts have since appeared on the CW station to host together. The last event they did together was a Holiday event December. This is the first time the longtime TV anchors will pair up full-time.

They are joining the Nexstar Media Group family to bring innovative, local content to the only locally owned and operated station in the Dallas-Fort Worth DMA.
