Former WDBJ Reporter Charged with Rape

Former WDBJ reporter Orlando Salinas has been charged with rape and forcible sodomy.

Roanoke NBC affiliate WSLS reports it “learned Salinas was under investigation for some time and the charges are the result of a direct indictment from the Montgomery County grand jury on Tuesday.”

He’s being held without bond.

Salinas, who was known for his “brash, sometimes confrontational reporting style,” left the Roanoke CBS affiliate over “differing views” in April 2015.

He was hired the same week as Bryce Williams, the man who murdered Alison Parker and Adam Ward while they were reporting live for the morning news.
