For Super Bowl, Schieffer Trading Politics for Pigskin

CBS’ “Face the Nation” will trade the Beltway for Miami and the Super Bowl this weekend, and that’s okay with host Bob Schieffer.

“The Super Bowl is one of those great moments in American culture,” says Schieffer. “It’s like the World Series. It’s one of those events that comes along and the whole world is focused on it.”

Schieffer will be at Sun Life Stadium for the 10:30 a.m. show, and among his guests will be NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell and CBS Sports’ Jim Nantz, Phil Simms, and Shannon Sharpe. The game airs on CBS.

Schieffer says he’ll have hard questions for Goodell on issues facing the NFL. He has no qualms about focusing on pigskin rather than politics for a day.
