Eric Philips Returns to Richmond Market

Eric Philips has joined Richmond, Va. ABC affiliate WRIC as an anchor.

Philips comes from the Christian Broadcast Network where he was the National Security Correspondent and White House Correspondent in Washington, D.C.

WRIC news director Shane Moreland said Philips is a “perfect fit” for the newsroom because of his “deep journalism experience” and his familiarity with the area.

“We are really excited to get Eric back in RVA anchoring local news,” said Moreland. “And we know viewers will be happy to see him again as well.”

“I love RVA. It’s why I still live in RVA,” said Philips. “From the time my family and I came here, we found this to be an extremely special place and were highly reluctant after I changed jobs going to work in Washington. So, we decided not to move, and we stayed.”

Before working at CBN, Philips worked for CNN and stations in Atlanta, Charlotte, Norfolk and Salisbury, Maryland. He’s also worked as an anchor and reporter at WWBT in Richmond
