WHIO chief meteorologist McCall Vrydaghs said goodbye to local TV after 12 years on Friday.

Vrydaghs joined the Dayton, Ohio CBS affiliate in 2012 after starting her career in radio. She told viewers on social media she accepted a role as director of corporate communications for Keep America Beautiful.

“It has been a privilege to work for WHIO and I’m truly going to miss everyone that has supported me throughout the years,” she said. “But, it’s because of that support that I was put in a position to make this move. Feel free to continue to follow me as I’ll post updates on what I’m doing in this next chapter of my life.”

Vrydaghs started her career in radio at CNN Headline News Radio in Newburgh, N.Y. She switched to local TV in 2011, as the weekend meteorologist for Verizon FiOS1 News in New York. She started working at WHIO in 2012 and was named chief meteorologist in 2018.
