Dayton Anchor Announces Retirement

By Kevin Eck

Mark Allan is retiring in September after 25 years at Dayton NBC affiliate WDTN.

Last week, the evening anchor shared the news by posting a picture of a beer and a bicycle on Twitter with the caption, “Yes, I do have a retirement plan.”

“And the time has come to put the plan into action,” Allan wrote. “My last day at WDTN will be September 2nd. Thank you Miami Valley for 25 great years!”

Before joining WDTN in 1995, Allan worked at KAKE in Wichita, Kan. He’s also worked at KYEL in Yuma, Ariz. and at KAET in Phoenix.
