KMSP anchor Dawn Stevens is leaving the Fox owned Minneapolis station at the end of the month.

“I grew up here,” she told viewers she realized while she was writing her goodbye. “I became a real adult here. I became a wife. I became a mom …  All the things.”

She will be working for a nonprofit helping Black-owned businesses, a move she said was “an important social mission” and one that was close to her heart.

Stevens started working at the station in 2006. She began her career as a technical director at a station in Lincoln, Neb. while in college. She got her first reporting job at KAAL Austin, Minn. and then moved on to WISC in Madison, Wisc.
