Danielle Moss Named WATN Chief Meteorologist

WATN Meteorologist Danielle Moss has been named the station’s chief meteorologist.

Moss is the station’s first black woman to hold the position. She has been with the Memphis ABC affiliate for two years.

“Before becoming the chief meteorologist here at ABC24, Danielle has shown her commitment to the Memphis and Mid-South community,” said Denisha Thomas, WATN news director. “Whether it’s through educating our children on how to stay safe during severe weather or even educating adults on weather safety, I know that commitment will only grow stronger in this new role. We are excited to have Danielle leading our team and upholding our reputation as one of the most trusted sources of weather information in the Mid-South.”

“Being in the community is my favorite part of the job,” said Moss. “My goal is to lead the team’s efforts as we focus on being community-minded meteorologists. Another hope is to inspire young girls to pursue S.T.E.M., especially young black girls. Not many meteorologists look like me, and I want them to know if I can do this, they can too.”
