Mike Oliveira has been named news director at Cox-owned Boston Fox affiliate WFXT.
Oliveira comes from Cox’s Pittsburgh station WPXI. He started there in 2005 as an executive producer and worked his way up to news director in 2012. He’s also worked at WTVH in Syracuse, N.Y.
“Mike’s passion for news, his work ethic and his ability to connect with people were immediately recognized by our newsroom,” said vp and GM Tom Raponi. “Mike knows the Boston and New England news market given his deep roots here.”
