Cincinnati Fox affiliate WXIX will expand its evening news offering, adding a 90-minute newscast between its 4 and 6:30 p.m. shows starting Monday, Jan. 6.
Newcomer Chris Riva, newly named evening anchor Amber Jayanth and meteorologist Ashley Smith will join main anchors Tricia Macke, Rob Williams and Steve Horstmeyer (pictured) to fill the two hour news block from 5 to 7:00 p.m.
John Kiesewetter reports Macke, Riva and meteorologist Horstmeyer will do a half-hour at 5 p.m. while Williams, Jayanth and Horstmeyer will anchor at 5:30 p.m.
The 6:00 p.m. newscast will feature anchors Riva and Smith with Williams, Jayanth and Smith anchoring the 6:30 p.m. news.
Macke and Horstmeyer will remain on the 4 p.m. news.
“Amber has done an exceptional job anchoring Fox 19 Now weekend editions. That, plus her strong knowledge of the Tri-State, made Amber the natural choice to join the 4-7 p.m. team,” said Debbie Bush, VP and GM of WXIX.
WXIX will move Judge Judy to 2-4 p.m. while the 6 p.m. Jeopardy! rerun moves to 12:30 p.m.
