WBFF has hired a new news director.
Mike Fahey is heading to Baltimore from Boston, where he spent the last six years working at WHDH as an executive producer.
In his new role at the Sinclair station, Fahey will assume all responsibilities associated with news content including newscasts, digital services and special programming.
“This is the opportunity of a lifetime, to lead a station with such a tremendous legacy,” he said in a statement. “I have been very impressed with the station, its reporters, and depth of its impactful journalism. We will continue to ask the tough questions and hold our local leaders accountable. I am passionate about continuing to address the issues facing our community. I look forward to working hand-in-hand with reporters and anchors that have made such an incredible impact on this market already.”
“We look forward to Mike’s arrival and his leadership of the dominant news operation in Baltimore,” WBFF general manager and svp Bill Fanshawe said. “Our team will continue to be the strongest source of news in the region, just as our viewers have come to expect.”
Fahey is scheduled to begin in his new role Dec. 9.
