Live television can be frightening, especially when you suddenly don’t feel well.

This weekend in Baton Rouge, La., WBRZ anchor Brandi Harris fell ill during a live newscast. She struggled to get through stories and was eventually forced to abruptly walk off set. It left viewers worried.

“I felt ill,” Harris said on the phone in a conversation with her station Monday. “I’m fine and it’s nothing concerning.”

“Brandi is an excellent part of our team and while we were worried about her health when she became suddenly ill Sunday, it’s comforting to know she’ll be OK and that our viewers were moved to check on her,” Rocky Daboval, WBRZ general manager, said.

Harris is home resting. Her normal days off are Monday and Tuesday. She plans to be back to work on Wednesday.
