Amber Eikel has been named senior vice president and general manager of the Fox-owned duopoly in Seattle (KCPQ and KZJO).

“I am delighted to welcome Amber, one of our strongest news directors, to the General Manager team,” said Jack Abernethy, chief executive officer of Fox Television Stations. “Her knowledge of the market and extensive local news experience will certainly be an asset in continuing to grow and lead the Seattle stations.”

Eikel has been the vp and news director for Fox owned Oakland stations KTVU-KICU since 2017. Before that, she was the duopoly’s assistant news director. Eikel has also worked as executive producer at KIRO in Seattle and at KTNV in Las Vegas. Earlier in her career, she served as a senior producer for WTMJ in Milwaukee. Eikel began her career as a producer, executive producer, and interim news director for KMIR in Palm Springs, Calif.

“I am excited to return to Seattle, a city has always held a special place in my heart because it feels like home,” said Eikel. “I look forward to leading the exceptional team at Fox 13, as we continue the station’s unwavering commitment to serving the vibrant communities of the Pacific Northwest.”
