The Albany, N.Y. market has seen another exodus of local reporters and anchors.
Last month, we reported that four anchors left in five days. This month, The Albany Times Union said four have left in less than a week.
This latest round was started by Spectrum News Albany anchor Matt Hunter (pictured second from right) who left last week after 13 years with the station.
Shortly after Hunter announced his departure, sports anchor-reporter Gardner Royce (far right) left CBS affiliate WRGB. The Times Union said neither Hunter nor Royce said where they’re going next.
The next journalist to leave was Darrell Camp (far left), who said goodbye to public station WMHT after one year. Camp was a reporter and producer for the show New York NOW.
Camp was followed by WNYT reporter and anchor Emily De Vito who is leaving the industry to work as communications director for the Capital District Transit Authority.
The latest departures bring the total of on-air departures this year to 15.
