KSTP anchor Brett Hoffland is getting more treatment for his testicular cancer.
As TVSpy reported, the Minneapolis anchor-reporter revealed in April he has cancer. He had one testicle removed and thought he was in the clear.
But further testing showed he had embryonal non-seminoma—one of the most rapidly growing and potentially aggressive testicular cancer tumor types, he said.
Hoffland said he was given a few options, including aggressive surveillance, more surgery or chemotherapy.
“A meeting with our urologist and oncologist at Mayo Clinic solidified what once was our ‘worst-case scenario’ would now become our reality,” he wrote in a post. “Chemotherapy was the only option to treat it.”
The anchor will travel to Rochester, Minn., weekly for treatment for the next nine weeks.
