In El Paso, it’s the end of an era. And it was a tearful sendoff for longtime anchor Estela Casas.

KVIA‘s longtime news anchor and breast cancer survivor signed off, for good.

In the 10-minute long send off, which included a very emotional video of her cancer battle and recovery, Casas said goodbye to El Paso. She also announced her next move. She’s moving on to work for the hospital that helped cure her.

Casas has been the main anchor for the ABC affiliate for 27 years. She anchored the station’s 5, 6 and 10 p.m. shows. She’s also spent time at the other affiliates in town in some capacity over the years.

She begins her work at the University Medical Center Foundation this month. You can watch all of the goodbyes and tributes to the El Paso icon here.
