A Birmingham, Alabama news crew came close to being the victims of gun violence during an interview with a woman who lost her son to a drive-by shooting.
Gunfire erupted as WVTM reporter Marlei Martinez was interviewing a woman at the same spot her 14-year-old son was killed in a drive-by shooting 22 years ago. Martinez said she heard more than 20 shots fired.
Right after the shooting, the mother was angry enough to call the mayor.
