Waheedah Wilson, the woman who punched Philadelphia Telemundo reporter Iris Delgado has been sentenced to 60 days in jail.

Philly.com reports Wilson, who has been in jail since the June 8 attack, was given credit for time served, meaning she’ll be out in 19 days.

Delgado was wrapping up an 11 p.m. live shot when Wilson approached, asked Delgado a question and then grabbed her hair and punched her in the head.

“I’m very apologetic,” Wilson said in court. “You won’t have to worry about me coming back in here for these problems.”

“It’s Philadelphia. People punch each other all the time,” said Wilson’s lawyer William J. Ciancaglini. “It’s a punch. It’s not right, but it happens. I want her sentenced as everyone else would be for throwing one punch – and it’s not five months in jail. You can’t make a crime different just because it happened on television.”

“Waheedah is a nice lady,” said Ciancaglini. “I believe she was just maybe having a bad day and made a foolish decision.”
