When Kathy Griffin And Larry King Get Together…

By SteveK

Kathy Griffin is a frequent guest on CNN’s Larry King Live, and she has a habit of leaving an impression. Friday night’s appearance was no exception.

Somehow, within a conversation about King’s salary, she asked, “What’s your social security number?” and King answered with nine numbers. Whether it was actually King’s social security number or just that of some unlucky random person, the number was edited out of the replay last night.

Less than a minute later, following King asking Griffin if she’d be Clay Aiken’s “baby mama,” King dropped a rare dig at Fox News.

“I’m not making it up! At Fox they do that,” he said.

> Update: An FNC spokesperson tells TVNewser, “Actually last time we checked, CNN is the network which was found to have literally made up the news in their legendary Tailwind ‘reporting’ but we don’t expect Larry to remember much these days.”

Click continued to see Griffin’s reaction, and her take on the “nutbags” at FNC…

> Update, update: A CNN insider clarifies King’s comments…

• A CNN insider tells TVNewser King was referring to Fox News because he was being accused (jokingly) by Griffin of making up the fact he won a GLAAD award. He was referencing a 2003 situation where FNC anchor Bill O’Reilly had claimed to have won a Peabody awards while working on Inside Edition, when in fact it was a Polk award.
