Vice Hires Talent From Fusion, NBC News for HBO Show

As Vice prepares to launch its nightly news program on HBO, the company has hired staffers away from Fusion and NBC News.

Josh Tyrangiel, the former Bloomberg executive hired by Vice last October to run the newscast, announced the hires in a memo obtained by The Huffington Post.

The hires include Fusion’s Javier Guzman, who will become senior producer for U.S. news, and NBC’s Christina Vallice. Tyrangiel writes of Vallice in the memo: “She’s been a producer on the Nightly News for the past six years and has Emmy awards and all that stuff, but her real skill is being exceedingly chill while dealing with the tightest of deadlines. She’s also pushed the boundaries of creativity within a very rigid format, and we’re excited to see how much further she can push them here.”
