Tom Llamas Joins NBC News

Former ABC News anchor, correspondent Tom Llamas is returning to NBC News, where he’ll serve as a senior national correspondent, and will anchor a new daily, prime time newscast on the network’s streaming news channel NBC News Now.

Additionally, Llamas will contribute regularly to Today, NBC Nightly News and NBC’s special and breaking news coverage across the network.

He begins May 3.

As mentioned, this is a homecoming for Llamas. He worked at NBC News and MSNBC from 2000-2014, first as an MSNBC producer, then a 2004 presidential campaign embed, before reporting and anchoring for NBC stations WTVJ and WNBC.

He even met his wife, Jen, while the two were NBC Newsers.

Llamas moved to ABC News in 2014, spending nearly seven full years at the network before leaving at the end of January. Most recently, he served as the anchor of ABC World News Tonight weekend editions, anchored programming on ABC News Live and he was also ABC News’ chief national affairs correspondent.
