In another life Larry King would be a phlegmatic shopkeeper in Brooklyn, wagging a bony finger at teenaged shoplifters one minute, leaning his stooped figure forward to offer them life lessons the next. Hand on jaw, pausing to sort through his memories, he’d enlighten his audience with a story from the old days, tell them what’s wrong with the modern days –and then he would listen.
