“The American Spirit,” Now Weekly

It was created for the Super Bowl. “Katie Couric takes a hard look at some of the critical social and economic issues facing America today — and the unique ways they are being tackled by four individuals– in a series, ‘The American Spirit,’ beginning Monday, Feb. 5,” CBS said.

And “now it’s turning into a weekly feature,” Howard Kurtz reports. The series is supposed to be solution-oriented; and, Couric says, “it’s just a nice break from some of the dreadful news we have to report every night.”
